During the 1640's witch craft was not a tramendous message to the religion. Witch craft had been a sin, the miracle created by the Morning Star himself (Devil). The England Colonies had fell into an uneasy state of mind. Their religion had read that they could not feel God's will directly, but they had to go through events in the world within their inner states. During the days of settlement, when their lands were rewarded, it was an easy feeling for the people. They had thought they were 'blessed' by God's divine, so they had no worries. However, at the same time, any miracle or even tragedy. Anything that went wrong, the very basis of their existence would be called into question.
The doubts began in the 1640's, where it became apparent that the intense devotion of a decade earlier was no longer there. The success of the Puritant Revolution in England in 1641 had interrupted the flow of immigrants. The children lacked fervor from their parents, leaders were againg and dying. The very prosperity had been taken as a sign of divine approval, making the Puritants believe that they were in a state of moral decline, searching for someone to blame.
That was why a mildly heretical work like "The Meritorious Price of Our Redemption," which might previously have been overlooked, now touched a raw nerve. Witchcraft persecutions were also increasingly common, and by the 1650's, any Quakers who made a nuisance of themselves in Boston (as Quakers in those days were wont to do) were likely to be treated severely or even executed.
It had not been in the 1640's that witchcraft was born, but later on. However, it became well known in the 1650's, leading such a weary act to the Salem Witch Trials. The act was taken in strongly, and became severe. Hanging, prisoning, and even letting some few victims go in the 1670's. Witchcraft had been against the religion, making it difficult for some people who were Catholic or Christians who did not go to church, blamed for doing witchery. Witchcraft and religion are somewhat incommon, but yet they all bring sin, revenge, evil, crime, and so on together. Whoever that did not follow the divine laws, they were easily and quickly blamed or accused.
